SKU Code: ABACH/BE57
This watch is based on a 1957 pattern and features a box sapphire crystal that outwardly resembles the original plexiglass version. Powered by a Ronda R 150 or equivalent movement, this 25-jewel automatic movement operates at an impressive 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offers a 38-hour power reserve. The movement includes hacking and hand-winding capabilities for precision and convenience, along with a quickset date function, exemplifying horological engineering at its finest.
The watch uses Luminova instead of the Tritium used in the 1950s. Luminova has the advantage of being non-radioactive and not deteriorating with age, while maintaining the same luminous color as the original 1950s models.
Measuring 39mm in diameter, this watch comes with a high-quality calf leather strap and a presentation box.

Why Sapphire Crystal?
Many people ask about the benefits of sapphire crystal compared to the original plexiglass. Synthetic sapphire is the superior choice for watch crystals due to its strength and resistance to shattering and scratches. These qualities make it highly appealing to military personnel, security forces, police officers, and outdoor enthusiasts—groups that make up over 70% of our customer base.
Plexiglass, which was commonly used in the 1960s, was easily scratched and could crack upon impact. It also limited the water resistance of the watch. In contrast, sapphire crystal is heat-treated to remove internal stresses, making it much stronger. Additionally, two layers of anti-reflective coating are applied for better visibility. Although sapphire crystal is more expensive, it’s typically used in higher-end watches due to its superior durability.
